About us
Our history
Shifa Medical Complex was established in the 1940s as one of the first hospitals in the Gaza Strip. Over decades it grew into the largest medical complex in the territory — a national referral centre for the most complex cases in the country, from critical trauma to rare diseases.
Throughout the most difficult periods, Shifa remained a lifeline: our teams have cared for countless generations of Gazan families, often working under extreme conditions to keep essential services running.
Our mission
To provide high-quality, accessible and equitable healthcare to every patient who comes through our doors — regardless of circumstance.
A healthy Gaza, where every family has access to comprehensive and dignified medical care.
Compassion, excellence, resilience and integrity guide everything we do — from the ambulance bay to the operating theatre.
